arisandmartha
arisandmartha is a creative duo formed by Aris Papadopoulos and Martha Pasakopoulou, based in Athens, Greece. Their collaborative work merges staged and site-specific dance performances, blending movement, text, and conceptual ideas to explore themes of identity, togetherness, consumption of image, body-as-archive and ritualistic practices. Their approach combines rhythm, absurd imagery, and fragmentation, often utilizing re-enactments and ready-made materials to craft unique live performances.
Since 2016, they have produced works such as SKINFLICK (2024), they returned regularly, each time for more (2023), and ALL THAT MATTER (2021-22), gaining international recognition as Aerowaves 2018 Artists with touching.just (2018). Their work has been showcased at festivals such as the Athens & Epidaurus Festival, Kalamata International Dance Festival, and Zürcher Theater Spektakel.
In addition to performances, they run IN-QUARRY, a research project focusing on embodied practices in public spaces, aiming to diversify choreographic approaches and foster interdisciplinary dialogue. Both artists are Stavros Niarchos Foundation ARTWORKS Fellows, with Aris also recognized as an Onassis AiR Fellow (2020).
